What is the participant key for Ethereum and ERC-20?

Updated 5 months ago

The participant key (or public key) is the key used for verifying your transactions which you are required to enter when participating in an auction. This key allows you to provide approval to release funds out of your crypto wallet, and only once you approve the release will the funds be transacted to the other party.

When dealing with Ethereum or ERC-20 Tokens, your wallet address is usually used as your multisig participant key, which means that the key to approve the release of funds and the address where you can receive your funds are the same.
